How To Expand Your Chord Voicing And Vocabulary II

Check out the latest guitar lesson from Jon McLennan. He will gives you some nice chord ideas in the style of John Mayer!

Hey, how’s it going this is Jon Mclennan with Guitar Control, I’m
really excited to look at some sort of John Mayer kind of voicing and
expanding more into a little bit of jazz and also using the thumb.

Basically we’re going to have on top just three note structures, like this:
2nd fret, 3rd fret, 4th fret and then we’re going to add our thumb. So this
gives us a real nice G major 7 chord and we’re going to harmonize again up the scale all of the chords of this chord family in the key of G.
