Kenny Wayne Shepherd is an American blues guitarist, singer, and songwriter from Shreveport, Louisiana. Born on June 12, 1977, Shepherd began playing guitar when he was only seven. His first performance at the Red River Revel Arts Festival in Shreveport led to a multiple album record deal with Giant Records. Shepherd has sold millions of records, received two Billboard Music Awards and two Orville Gibson Awards, and also has been nominated for four Grammy Awards. Recently, this blues guitarist developed a DVD/CD project called “10 Days Out: Blues from the Backroads,” which documents Shepherd as he travels the country to meet the last of the authentic blues musicians.
