How to Play This Blues Lick on Lead Guitar in the Style of Eric Clapton

Blues Guitar Lick in the Style of Eric Clapton – Lead Guitar Lesson on Blues Licks

Hey, how’s it going this is Claude Johnson with Guitar Control, I want to give you an Eric Clapton style lick today. It’s in the key of D. It’s kind of like this.

Basically you pivot. Notice how I’m pivoting off that one note? Then I slide; pivoting again. You’re just pivoting off of different notes. I talk a lot about this in Supercharged Soloing Made Simple, but I just want you to be aware of the basic concept.

I really love the way Clapton will do that sometimes. He’ll do these really cool pivoting licks and I think you’ll benefit from checking-out the tabs on this one just to see kind of how I approach this. Also, if you want to check-out Supercharged Soloing Made Simple I go real deep into this concept. Guitarcontrol.com/supercharged is where you can check that out. Again, just check the link in the description for the tabs or go to guitarcontrol.com/supercharged.
