How To Play Zeppelin Intro on Acoustic Guitar | Over the Hills

Led-Zeppelin-Acoustic-Guitar-Lesson

Hey, guys. Claude Johnson here and I want to show you
the intro into “Over the Hills and Far Away”.

It’s basically G and D. We do this little lick before
the G chord, open G string to 2nd fret, hammer-on and
pull-off and then 4th fret of the D string, pull open.
You do it a little bit quickly, okay? Then you do this.
Same lick but you go up to the G string and then on the
G string you’re going to do a double pull-off, 4th fret
pull-off to 2nd, pull-off to open and then open D string.
So you have this. Into your D chord. So real slow.

You’re going to do that a couple of times and then when you
land on the D it’s like 2nd fret A string, D, hammer-on/pull-off.
Then you’re going to go back. Now this time you’re going to do
a Cadd9. My middle finger is on the 3rd fret of the A string,
1st finger is on the 2nd fret of the D string, open Guitar and
then ring finger is on the 3rd fret of the D string.

Now this is a little passing chord. It’s like a G/B, something
like that. It’s my 1st finger on the B note. It’s the 2nd fret
of the A string. The ring finger is still here and then one more
down, B5. Then I’m going to go back to this.

I think that’s enough for you to handle right now. It’s a great
riff. If you’d like to learn more about playing all your favorite
